A Typical Day At Camp Nicolet
Get ready for non-stop fun and adventure because every day at Camp Nicolet is packed with excitement! We roll out of bed bright and early at 7:30 am, ready to greet the day with flag raising at 7:55 am. After a hearty breakfast, it’s time for “Capers,” the cabin clean-up challenge, where we work together from 8:45 to 9:45 am to keep our cabins sparkling! The real action begins with Activity I at 10 am and Activity II at 11 am; get ready to learn new skills and have a blast! Lunch refuels us from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, followed by a relaxing Rest Hour until 2:30 pm to recharge us for Activities III and IV.
But wait, there’s more to the Camp Nicolet magic! Our week is color-coded for extra fun: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are awesome “Green Days,” while Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays are fantastic “Buff (Yellow) Days” – representing our cool camp colors! On Wednesdays, following afternoon activities, each cabin heads off for a super fun Wednesday Night Cookout in the Camp Nicolet Outpost. Other weekdays, you’ll choose your own adventure during Elective activities from 5 pm until just before dinner, trying out new & unique things!
Evenings at Camp Nicolet are just as exciting! Kick back and enjoy a movie with friends in the Little Theatre on Monday Night Movie Night. Tuesdays and Thursdays bring more awesome Evening Electives from 7:30 to 8:45 pm, where you pick from amazing options like Trail Rides, Sunset Paddle, Podcasting, and more! Fridays are special for bonding with your cabin during Cabin Night or hanging out with friends for Unit Night. And the grand finale to every week? The incredibly popular Saturday Night Campfire, filled with songs, skits, and wacky attire! As a preteen who struggled to find her place in school— I absolutely flourished at camp and was forever changed. Camp Nicolet helped me discover who I was and how powerful one girl could become.
My 9 years at Camp Nicolet are some of the highlights of my life. I think of my time on Lake Franklin, laughing, singing, learning new skills, and making lifelong friends. The memories are a source of pure joy and happiness buffering the inevitable challenges of life!
Because of camp, I have been able to meet so many different people with all different backgrounds. Camp is just a magical place where girls from all over come to be girls, and I can honestly say there has not been a day at camp out of all my years that I did not feel like I had best friends who really cared for me.
Camp Nicolet is a tremendous gift, not just for our daughter, but for our whole family. It’s always nice to remind our daughter that her favorite time of year is the one month she doesn’t have a phone in her hands. Camp is a huge part of who our daughter is – for that we are thankful.
Our daughter would not be the strong, confident person she is today without the experiences she had at Camp Nicolet. Thank you a thousand times over!
One day, I will return to gather Nicolet up into my arms. One does not forget, ever, being so very lucky to have grown up with such a friend as Nicolet. I treasure it always.
