Horseback Riding

Are you ready to start “horsin’ around?” Camp is the summer home to 14 horses – who all seem to earn a place in the heart of someone each summer. The riding director and her capable staff work to ensure a safe and quality environment for equestrian instruction, from novice to advanced skills.

Program Details

The option of signing up for three hours per week of horseback riding is included in your camp tuition. Enjoy trail rides through the Nicolet National Forest. Learn new skills in one of our three instructional rings. Participate in a riding gymkhana (games on horseback), or showcase your skills in the annual horse show at the conclusion of the summer.

Horseback riding lessons are available to all campers who choose to take them and are included in the base tuition for all sessions (three lessons/week). We do offer an additional option if your camper would like to take an additional three lessons, which would be a total of six lessons per week. All skill levels are accepted. So if you think you would like to “horse around” more frequently, check this out.

Equestrian Facility

If you love horses, you’ll love hanging out at the Nicolet Equestrian Center. Are you ready to make some new four-legged friends? Horses are beautiful creatures that add strength and grace to any environment, especially when they are well cared for. Stable management is also part of this amazing program.

Annual Horseshow

Camp Nicolet’s annual horse show gives campers an opportunity to proudly demonstrate their newly acquired riding skills.

“Because of camp, I have been able to meet so many different people with all different backgrounds. Camp is just a magical place where girls from all over come to be girls, and I can honestly say there has not been a day at camp out of all my years that I did not feel like I had best friends who really cared for me.” – Camp Nicolet Camper
