To make sure everyone feels connected, we offer various ways for campers and Staff to share their experience with you. Whether it’s through written letters via US Mail, e-mailed letters home (for International campers), or curated photo updates, we’ll help bridge the distance and keep you part of their amazing summer adventure!

Mail & E-Mail
Mail & E-Mail
US Mail is picked up at the local post office in Eagle River, Monday through Saturday, and is typically distributed to campers at Rest Hour (after lunch). Mailing times can be slightly longer to/from our location in northern Wisconsin. We encourage all campers to write home often in the spirit of good communication! Often, “no news is good news” but certainly if you have concerns, please contact the office.
Mailing Address for Us Mail
Your Camper’s Name
Camp Nicolet, Inc.
P.O. Box 1359
Eagle River, WI 54521
In addition to letters via US Mail, campers may receive one-way e-mails from parents. This is accomplished through My Camp Account or the Campanion app. The Campanion app is downloaded through the App Store or Google Play. One-way e-mails may be sent after parents have purchased “Camp Stamps” in MY CAMP ACCOUNT. E-mails are printed each morning and are placed in cabin mailboxes prior to lunch.
Unfortunately, campers are not able to send you e-mail in return. We encourage the old-fashioned art of letter writing as part of the camp experience. International campers, however, may get letterhead at the camp office and can hand-write letters to you, which we will scan and e-mail home. E-mails for campers sent directly to the Camp Nicolet general e-mail address are not printed and distributed – we print and distribute only e-mails sent through MY CAMP ACCOUNT. Please contact the office with any questions.
Phone Calls
Phone Calls
Part of the importance of the summer camp experience is fostering independence by learning how to be away from home.
While many people believe that contact with home helps campers settle into camp life and eases homesickness, it’s our experience that the opposite is true; calls home tend to increase the length and severity of homesickness.
For this reason, we do not allow phone calls at camp. The only exception is for campers who have a birthday during their camp session. Please contact the camp office to schedule a birthday call, and to arrange for a birthday “care package” (at your discretion – no food, candy, or gum, please).
Teletherapy Sessions
Camp Nicolet supports teletherapy sessions for families requesting them. Teletherapy calls are virtual or phone meetings with a camper’s therapist or counselor at home. The following helps Nicolet’s Administrative Staff support families requesting such calls:
If your family has questions or circumstances you wish to discuss, please contact the Camp Director.
Packages
Packages
By following the Packing List, your daughter arrives at camp with everything she needs. In an effort to eliminate competition among campers and possibly homesickness, we don’t allow “care packages,” with the exception of those for a camper who has a birthday at camp. Small padded envelopes with books and magazines are allowed, but anything larger is returned to sender, and postage costs billed to your camp store account.
Our location in the North Woods affords us the opportunity to connect with nature, and a unique part of that is being in close proximity to animals. Please do not send food, candy, or gum to camp. Food in cabins attracts unwanted critters – that’s just a reality of living in the North Woods.
If your camper needs replacement eyeglasses, retainers, or other essential items, please contact the office to make arrangements.
Testimonials
Testimonials
Camp Nicolet is a tremendous gift, not just for our daughter, but for our whole family. It’s always nice to remind our daughter that her favorite time of year is the one month she doesn’t have a phone in her hands. Camp is a huge part of who our daughter is – for that we are thankful.
Cannot begin to thank you enough for giving my daughter a chance to have the most amazing summer of her young life. she thoroughly enjoyed her time at camp, made so many nice friends, and had so many wonderful experiences (including the backpacking trip along Lake Superior) that she can’t stop talking about it.
One day, I will return to gather Nicolet up into my arms. One does not forget, ever, being so very lucky to have grown up with such a friend as Nicolet. I treasure it always.
Camp means more to me that you will ever know. My best friends/sisters are the most important people in my life. I am forever grateful to you for providing me (and my mom!) with nine wonderful summers. I would not be who I am today without Nicolet.
Everyone was so kind and attentive. I enjoyed getting the letters and seeing the excitement in our daughters handwriting. She survived without her phone! We have camp as a reference now, as we remind her of how much she accomplished without devices or streaming media
The fact that you are able to slow these girls down, detach them from their electronics, and show them all that Nicolet has to offer is amazing to me and very lucky for them. You have not only kept the very special legacy of Nicolet going, but you have added to and changed camp in such a way that you have kept it relevant to this next generation. Thank you for that.
As a preteen who struggled to find her place in school— I absolutely flourished at camp and was forever changed. Camp Nicolet helped me discover who I was and how powerful one girl could become.
My 9 years at Camp Nicolet are some of the highlights of my life. I think of my time on Lake Franklin, laughing, singing, learning new skills, and making lifelong friends. The memories are a source of pure joy and happiness buffering the inevitable challenges of life!
Because of camp, I have been able to meet so many different people with all different backgrounds. Camp is just a magical place where girls from all over come to be girls, and I can honestly say there has not been a day at camp out of all my years that I did not feel like I had best friends who really cared for me.
Our daughter would not be the strong, confident person she is today without the experiences she had at Camp Nicolet. Thank you a thousand times over!
